This post is coming in under the wire but I think still qualifies for my March post. Things seem to lack a lot of rhythm lately, both in front of the camera and behind it. As I look to April I really hope to get behind the ol’ beast of my 4x5 camera again and create some more portraits with it. I tabled using it awhile ago (read: the end of 2024 was busier than expected) but I’m looking to get behind it again. I really love the camera but it is a very different way of working and doesn’t fit the day-in-day out photography that many are accustomed to or even want. And generally speaking, my rather aggressive front tilt on the lens yields a look that’s not very commercial or applicable outside of studio portraits. That being said It’s a unique look though and I like it.
Talent: Tessa of Endless Managment
Tessa was in the studio for another look but was kind enough to take a moment to sit for a 4x5 portrait. If anything this post serves as a reminder to me to get out and use it more. So hopefully there will be more to come but only time will tell. Also, I hope April’s post won’t publish on the last day, lol. Be safe out there, see ya in April ☮️
